Performance Management for People Managers

Articulate Rise eLearning

Challenge: To align U.S. people managers across the business on the company's performance management approach and process.

Solution: In collaboration with Talent Development SMEs, I designed an eLearning explaining the company's performance management framework, timeline, key process components, and best practices.

My Involvement: 95% Design and Graphics

  • eLearning - I was provided a draft deck with the main content. I designed the Rise eLearning, edited and flowed in the content, created interactions, new graphics, and AI narration.

Result: A consistent philosophy and process for all U.S. people managers (and new managers), with clear points of contact for further information.

Emotional Intelligence Workshop

Workshop Design - Presenter PPT Deck and Participant Handout

Background: I created this 90-minute workshop as part of an in-house certification program. The program included a pre-requisite LinkedIn Learning course. The workshop builds on the fundamentals of Emotional Intelligence and focuses on applying the concepts through several exercises.

My involvement: 90% my work

  • I researched the topic, used AI to create outline options, determined the final outline and attributable source content, wrote the talking points and selected the exercises.

  • I put together the deck and participant handout using the company branded deck + slide layouts selected from a paid slide template provider.

Product Training - Insurance Sales eLearning (Detailed Process)

Articulate Storyline + Vyond Animation Video

Challenge: Sales of ancillary products—specifically Workers’ Compensation—within the Payroll division were consistently low, resulting in missed opportunities for revenue.
During the needs assessment, I met with both seasoned Account Executives and new Representatives. I found that most were unfamiliar with the company’s Workers’ Comp offering, lacked confidence in discussing it with prospects, and did not fully understand the incentive structure tied to this add-on product.

Solution: To address these gaps, I partnered with Sales leadership and subject matter experts to define clear learning objectives. Then, I worked with the National Sales Trainer (SME) to design a blended learning program that combined education, practice, and motivation.

Part One: eLearning Module - 95% my work

  • Based on product information I received from the SME (Seismic + clarifying questions), I designed, wrote, and developed an interactive eLearning course to explain the company’s Workers’ Comp offering and highlight key differentiators from competitors.

  • I embedded the content in a story to draw learners in and make the information relatable and memorable.

  • The eLearning included common scenarios for starting the conversation with prospects, talk tracks and exercises to identify types of businesses that were easier to place.

  • I measured effectiveness through knowledge checks, exercises, and a learner survey (Kirkpatrick Levels 1–2).

Part Two: Role Playing Practice - 85% my work

  • We provided Sales leaders with structured role-playing exercises for weekly team meetings (I drafted/formatted them with SME edits).

  • Applying the learning in practice sessions, with coaching and accountability from team leaders, served to further build confidence and supported new behaviors (Kirkpatrick L3). This also incorporated active experimentation from Kolb's experiential learning model.

Part Three: Sales Contest and Incentives

  • We suggested Sales leadership launch a contest to immediately motivate teams to sell Workers' Compensation to existing Payroll clients and new prospects.

  • Team leaders explained the incentive structure clearly to provide a roadmap for success.

Results: Equipped with product knowledge, practical strategies, and confidence gained through practice and coaching, the Payroll division increased Workers’ Comp sales by more than 20% over the next two quarters.

Please note: This is an older work sample, but I've included it to reflect the full design process from inception to completion.

Instructor-Led Sales Training

Facilitator Guide

Challenge: New Sales leadership wanted a complete overhaul of the annual 4-day, in-person sales training.

Solution: After training goals and objectives were defined with leadership, I worked with the SME (National Sales Trainer) to develop the curriculum, exercises, talking points and additional materials used in the training (this sample was a working copy of the Facilitator guide).

My Involvement: 90% my work

I drafted the content outline and talking points, along with the document design, selected and created the exercises, and revised the guide with SME edits to ensure the correct language was used.

Result: Sales leadership and participants reported high engagement, and evaluation scores increased from around 5 to around 8 out of 10.

Talent Acquisition Operational Training for Hiring Managers

Articulate Rise eLearning

Challenge: To align hiring managers across the business and new Talent Acquisition staff on the company's hiring approach, process, interview best practices, and candidate assessment tools.

Solution: In collaboration with TA, I designed an eLearning detailing the hiring & evaluation process, which would be followed by a live workshop focused on applying STAR interviewing techniques, role playing exercises and candidate evaluation.

My Involvement: 100% Design and Graphics

  • eLearning - I was provided a draft deck by the SME (TA Director) with the main content. I designed the Rise eLearning, edited and flowed in the content, created new graphics and included interactive exercises.

  • Participant Workbook - I designed the workbook in PowerPoint and created a fillable PDF for workshop attendees.

Result: Reduced corporate risk and greater consistency in the hiring, interview and assessment process.
